While these sessions are centered around your missionary, family photos can be an important part of the experience too. We can include parents, siblings, grandparents, or anyone else you’d like to have photographed with them.
We’ll make sure to get the individual missionary portraits you’re looking for, then leave time for a few group combinations and more candid moments together. These photos can be especially meaningful to have as your missionary heads out to serve.
What to Expect
You’re welcome to bring a few meaningful items to make your session personal to your missionary. You’ll want to bring your own Book of Mormon if you’d like to include it in your photos, along with a flag if you’d like to incorporate one. You can also bring anything else that feels special to this season, although you certainly don’t need to bring anything extra. The focus will stay on your missionary, with simple details that help make the photos feel like them.

How long is an LDS missionary photography session?
Missionary sessions are 30 minutes long, giving us enough time for individual portraits, different poses, and a few family photos if you’d like to include them.
What should my missionary bring to the session?
Your missionary should bring their missionary outfit and anything they would like included in their photos. You’re welcome to bring your own Book of Mormon and a flag if you’d like to incorporate either of those.
Can we take family photos during the missionary session?
Absolutely. These sessions can include parents, siblings, grandparents, or other family members. We’ll make sure to prioritize individual missionary portraits while also leaving time for family photos.
Where do missionary sessions take place?
Sessions can take place at a location that fits the look you have in mind. I’ll help you choose a location that works well for missionary portraits and gives us some variety during the 30-minute session.
Do we need to bring anything besides the Book of Mormon and flag?
Not at all. The Book of Mormon and flag are completely optional. If there is another meaningful item you’d like to include, you’re welcome to bring it, but keeping things simple works beautifully too.
Can we include more than one outfit?
Because missionary sessions are 30 minutes, I recommend keeping the session to one main outfit so we can spend our time photographing rather than changing. If you’re looking for photos in a different outfit we can certainly add it in or extend the session.
